The name born in the United States in the early twentieth century comes from Theodore Roosvelt ... it is said that the American president, an expert hunter, in 1902 during a hunting trip spared the life of a young brown bear.
The news reached the newspapers that nicknamed the bear Teddy Bear and readers immediately fell in love with the bear and the various ad hoc cartoons.
